Urban Village, a mixed-use development situated in Phnom Penh, demonstrates the successful implementation of Mimar’s advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) strategies. With our expertise, this large-scale, community-focused condominium project has been brought to life, redefining the urban landscape of the city.

Mimar’s contribution to the Urban Village project was extensive and pivotal. Our BIM coordination involved meticulous integration of the architectural, structural, and MEP components of the development. Utilizing the Level of Development (LOD) 450, we ensured that the BIM models were highly detailed, making them invaluable tools for fabrication and assembly, and that they were able to adequately reflect the as-constructed asset for operations and maintenance later on.

Potential design conflicts were identified and rectified early in the design process with our comprehensive clash detection and analysis, leading to significant time and cost savings. The coordination drawings we provided were instrumental in minimizing construction errors and facilitating the smooth progress of the project.

Beyond that, our team implemented a 4D control and planning methodology, integrating time-related data into the BIM model. This provided the project stakeholders with a clear, visual timeline of the construction process, making project management and progress tracking far more efficient and effective.

The Urban Village development, consisting of four 23-storey towers and a total of 1,656 units across a gross floor area of 100,000 sqm, highlights the value of BIM in realizing large-scale urban developments. The project was awarded the Best Condo Development in Cambodia and Phnom Penh and the Best Condo Landscape Architectural Design, underscoring the high-quality design and construction we contributed to the project.
